Job Overview
Our client is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Bookkeeper to take complete ownership of their financial function. This role is perfect for a finance professional who thrives on maintaining accurate records and ensuring seamless tax compliance. You will be responsible for the end-to-end bookkeeping cycle, from day-to-day accounts payable and receivable to complex quarterly BAS preparation. Working closely with the business owner and office manager, you will play a critical role in the company's operational efficiency, with the potential to transition into a full-time role as the business continues to scale.

Monday – Friday, 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM AEST (20 hours per week)
Note: Potential to expand to 40 hours per week as the business grows.
Responsibilities
- Manage the full cycle of Accounts Receivable (AR) and Accounts Payable (AP), including debt collection and following up on outstanding trade account payments.
- Perform comprehensive monthly bank reconciliations and process payroll for the internal team.
- Prepare and submit quarterly Business Activity Statements (BAS) and ensure ongoing Australian tax compliance.
- Maintain all financial records in Xero, working within an ecosystem integrated with Cin7 (Invoicing/Inventory) and CRM systems.
- Ensure meticulous accuracy in financial data entry and assist with year-end tax preparation.
- Maintain direct and clear communication with the business owner and office manager to report on the company's financial health.
Requirements
- Extensive experience managing AR/AP, payroll processing, and bank reconciliations.
- Strong, proven experience with Xero accounting software.
- Solid understanding of Australian tax requirements, specifically BAS preparation.
- Willingness to learn and master new software systems like Cin7.
- High attention to detail, accuracy, and the ability to work independently while managing time effectively.
- Confidence in client follow-up and managing outstanding receivables professionally.
