Job Overview

Our client is looking for a skilled Full-Stack Web Developer (WordPress & Shopify) to create, maintain, and optimize high-performing websites. The ideal candidate has a strong eye for design, a solid understanding of website functionality and user experience, and hands-on knowledge of SEO best practices to help improve site visibility and search rankings. This role requires someone who can seamlessly combine creative web design, technical development, and SEO optimization to build websites that are both visually appealing and results-driven.

Schedule  

• Monday to Friday, Flexible within Sydney business hours (20 hours per week)

Responsibilities

• Web Development: Design, build, and maintain responsive websites using WordPress and Shopify.
• Custom Layouts: Develop custom website layouts, landing pages, and page templates aligned with brand guidelines.
• Optimization: Optimize website performance, speed, and mobile responsiveness; improve structure and navigation for better engagement.
• Maintenance: Manage website updates, plugins, themes, and integrations; ensure websites follow current web standards, accessibility, and security best practices.
• E-commerce Management: Create and maintain Shopify storefronts, product pages, and checkout flows.
• SEO Implementation: Implement on-page SEO best practices (meta titles, descriptions, alt text, internal linking) and conduct regular technical SEO audits.
• Analytics & Reporting: Monitor website analytics, traffic performance, and SEO rankings using tools like Google Search Console.
• Troubleshooting: Resolve website bugs, formatting issues, and plugin conflicts.

Requirements

• Proven experience in website design and development for WordPress and Shopify.
• Strong knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and website builders/themes.
• Experience with Shopify theme customization and app integrations.
• Strong understanding of SEO principles, including on-page and technical SEO.
• Familiarity with SEO tools such as Google Analytics, Google Search Console, SEMrush, or Ahrefs.
• Experience optimizing site speed and Core Web Vitals.
• Good understanding of UX/UI design principles.
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.

Qualifications

• Experience with website migration, backups, and maintenance is a plus.
• Ability to create mobile-friendly and responsive designs.
