Job Overview
Our client is looking for a detail-oriented and creative Social Media Assistant to support their English-language social media presence. This role will be responsible for planning, creating, and managing content across multiple platforms, while also supporting community engagement and brand consistency. The ideal candidate is someone who enjoys both content creation and design, and understands how to communicate effectively with a U.S.-based audience, particularly international students navigating immigration pathways.
Schedule

Monday - Friday, 12:00 PM - 08:00 PM PST, with 1 hour unpaid break (40 work hours per week); with flexibility based on the selected candidate’s availability.
Responsibilities
Social Media Management
- Plan, write, and schedule posts across the client’s English social channels (Instagram, Facebook, X, Reddit)
- Ensure content aligns with brand voice and campaign objectives
- Use scheduling tools to maintain a consistent posting calendar
Content Creation & Design
- Design graphics using Canva (event flyers, webinar banners, social posts, email headers, YouTube thumbnails)
- Maintain visual consistency across all platforms
- Organize and manage a shared asset library with proper naming conventions
Community Engagement
- Monitor comments and direct messages across platforms
- Respond to inquiries or escalate when necessary
- Facilitate and manage communities on platforms such as WhatsApp, Telegram, and Reddit
Collaboration
- Coordinate with the video editor for asset handoffs (e.g., thumbnails, cover images, branding overlays)
- Work closely with internal teams to support campaigns and content needs

Requirements
- Strong written English skills with a clear, professional, yet approachable tone for a U.S. audience
- Experience handling both copywriting and design within the same role
- End-to-end social media experience (Plan, create, engage, manage)
- 1–2 years of experience managing social media for a brand, agency, or organization (professional experience required; personal accounts alone are not sufficient)
- Preferred: Familiarity with international student audiences and U.S. immigration-related topics
- Preferred: Experience managing online communities or groups
