Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and resourceful Construction Estimator to join our team. This role will focus on building complete new construction estimates, ongoing cost reporting, budget tracking, and supporting project scheduling. The ideal candidate is proficient in construction estimating, comfortable communicating with subcontractors and vendors, and able to leverage AI tools to increase efficiency. This position offers flexibility, starting as a full-time role with potential to shift to part-time hours based on business needs.

Schedule: 8:00 AM to 4 PM Eastern Standard Time - with one hour unpaid for break.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed material takeoffs and construction estimates covering all phases, from excavation to finishes and appliances
• Track ongoing project costs and budgets, updating reports regularly
• Review plans, subcontractor, vendor, and material quotes, identifying any gaps or inconsistencies
• Draft professional communications via email, text, and phone with subcontractors, vendors, and internal team members
• Collaborate closely with the project lead on cost reporting, budgets, and financial tracking
• Create and update project schedules as needed
• Use construction terminology confidently and maintain clear communication with all project stakeholders
• Utilize AI tools such as ChatGPT and Microsoft Copilot to improve productivity and task management
• Break down complex communications into actionable tasks to ensure nothing is overlooked
• Someone who can handle admin tasks such as project scheduling, making calls, managing appointments, simple bookkeeping, and accounting when there is no other tasks.

Requirements

• Proven experience in material takeoffs and construction estimating
• Strong proficiency in Excel and Google Sheets, including formulas and budget tracking
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office and Google Suite
• Comfortable working with PDFs and Adobe Reader; experience measuring plans is a plus (training available)
• Experience with CRM systems preferred (GoHighLevel a plus)
• Knowledge of AutoCAD and Bluebeam is a bonus but not required
• Practical experience or willingness to quickly learn construction methods and order of operations
• Highly detail-oriented, self-motivated, and proactive in self-education and problem-solving
• Ability to communicate professionally and effectively in written and verbal formats
• Practical, daily working knowledge of ChatGPT and other AI tools to support tasks
