Accountant (AU Background & Xero Specialist)

Job Overview:

We are looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant with strong Xero expertise to take the lead in managing our financial records and reporting.

In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate accounts, preparing vital financial reports, and ensuring our continued compliance with accounting standards. We are seeking a professional who brings hands-on experience in Xero, sharp analytical skills, and the proactive ability to work independently. Beyond the numbers, you will play a key part in our growth by supporting management with the timely financial insights needed to drive the company forward.

Schedule:

  • Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday, 9:00 am to 6:00 pm (Australian Eastern Standard Time) 24 hours/week

Responsibilities:

  • Manage day-to-day accounting operations using Xero
  • Maintain accurate financial records, ledgers, and journals
  • Handle accounts payable and accounts receivable in Xero
  • Perform bank reconciliations and resolve discrepancies
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports
  • Ensure accurate coding of transactions and expenses
  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management
  • Support internal and external audits
  • Prepare tax-related reports and documentation as required
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • Proven experience as an Accountant with hands-on Xero experience, with AU background ( Non- negotiable)
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and best practices
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial reporting tools
  • High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
  • Experience working with international clients

  • This is a permanent work-from-home role under an Independent Contractor arrangement. Candidates must have their own computer and reliable internet connection, and are responsible for their own taxes and benefits.
