Sales Development Representative - Solar & Battery Systems

Work Schedule: 8am to 5pm with 1 hour unpaid break | Australian Eastern Time

Responsibilities:

  • Handle inbound and outbound sales inquiries through Zoho CRM (transitioning to Techmatics/Go High Level)
  • Conduct consultative sales calls to understand customer energy needs for off-grid properties
  • Perform technical calculations for battery sizing, solar panel requirements, and system configurations
  • Calculate power consumption needs (e.g., air conditioner runtime, appliance loads) and recommend appropriate solutions
  • Process recorded call transcripts through ChatGPT to generate follow-up emails and proposals
  • Follow up with prospects who don’t initially respond to calls or emails
  • Provide technical consultation on solar and battery systems for remote properties

Requirements:

  • Professional and courteous demeanor suitable for engaging with a diverse customer base 
  • Strong mathematical skills for power calculations and system sizing
  • Ability to communicate clearly and confidently in English with customers. 
  • Direct, honest communication style that works well with blunt Australian customers
  • Solar industry experience preferred but not mandatory
  • Ability to be firm with difficult customers when necessary (not overly accommodating)
  • Self-directed learning capability to study product videos and technical materials

Scope:

  • Full-time position (40 hours per week)
  • Australian time zone flexibility (Brisbane/Melbourne hours)
  • Remote work from home setup with reliable power and internet backup
  • Focus on off-grid solar and battery systems for remote Australian properties

Side Note

  • This is a permanent work-from-home role under an Independent Contractor arrangement. Candidates must have their own computer and reliable internet connection, and are responsible for their own taxes and benefits. Professional hourly fees are established based on your performance in the application process.
