HR & Technical Recruitment Assistant (Construction/Telecom)

Role Overview: We are seeking a high-energy, results-driven HR & Recruitment Assistant to lead the end-to-end talent acquisition for our growing fiber network and construction operations. This role is not just about administrative support; it is about proactively headhunting skilled tradespeople and field leaders to meet aggressive project deadlines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • End-to-End Recruitment: Manage the full hiring lifecycle, from initial sourcing to offer negotiation and onboarding, ensuring all departmental goals are met.
  • Strategic Sourcing: Proactively build talent pipelines for specialized roles including Fiber Installers, Hydrovac Operators, Drillers, Project Managers, and Site Supervisors.
  • Multi-Channel Acquisition: Utilize job boards, trade unions, industry associations, and social media networks to find "hard-to-reach" technical talent.
  • Rigorous Vetting: Screen resumes and conduct in-depth interviews to assess technical skills, field experience, and cultural fit.
  • Compliance & Documentation: Verify essential site-specific requirements, including working-at-heights certifications, safety training, valid driver’s licenses, and union standing.
  • Stakeholder Management: Act as the primary liaison between candidates and hiring managers, coordinating interview schedules and feedback loops.
  • Pre-Employment Processing: Oversee background checks, reference verifications, and the preparation of formal offer packages.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years in a dedicated recruitment or HR role, preferably within the Construction, Telecom, or Engineering sectors.
  • Communication: Exceptional verbal and written English skills; ability to confidently engage with both field laborers and executive leadership.
  • Technical Proficiency: Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and familiarity with Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS).
  • Industry Knowledge: Solid understanding of labor laws and current market trends affecting the construction and telecom workforce.
  • Traits: High energy, resilient attitude, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

Side Note: Since this is a permanent work-from-home position and the arrangement is that of an “Independent Contractor,” the selected candidates must have their own computer and internet connection. They will handle their own benefits and taxes. The professional fees are on hourly rates and the rate depends on your performance in the application process.
