Role Overview

We are seeking a high-energy Sales Development Representative with deep, direct experience in the trucking industry. You will be the first point of contact for an insurance agency specializing in commercial trucking. Your goal is to navigate the specific needs of truckers and small fleet owners (1-2 trucks), qualify their insurance requirements, and set the stage for our closing team.

The absolute requirement for this role is a solid understanding of trucking terminology, operations, and the daily challenges of owner-operators and fleets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Targeted Outreach: Make high-volume outbound calls (100+ daily) to truckers and small fleet owners.
  • Industry-Specific Pitching: Deliver sales pitches that resonate with trucking professionals, skillfully answering industry-specific questions and overcoming common objections.
  • Qualified Prospecting: Collect and verify detailed information to qualify insurance needs. Prepare and submit completed files using standardized templates for the sales team.
  • Appointment Setting: Coordinate and schedule follow-up calls for the sales team to close deals.
  • CRM & Documentation: Maintain meticulous notes and data entry in the CRM system and insurance portals.
  • Process Adherence: Follow established sales scripts while maintaining the authenticity needed to build rapport with truckers.

Requirements

  • Mandatory Trucking Experience: Proven experience working within the trucking industry. You must understand industry terminology, fleet operations, and the specific needs of owner-operators.
  • Insurance Background: Previous sales experience specifically within the insurance industry is required.
  • High-Volume Sales Stamina: Proven ability to maintain a high call volume (100+ calls) to secure appointments.
  • Technical Proficiency: Strong experience with CRM systems and general data entry.
  • Communication Style: Excellent verbal skills; ability to establish immediate credibility with busy trucking professionals who value clear and direct communication.

Candidates must have their own computer and reliable internet connection, and are responsible for their own taxes and benefits.
