This is a hands-on, multi-disciplinary role ideal for someone who understands both the technical and creative sides of E-Commerce growth. You will be responsible for managing and optimising the Shopify store while driving growth through SEO (including AI search), social media, and email marketing. The role combines strategy, execution, and continuous optimisation.

The company is a Melbourne-based aquarium store specialising in live fish and aquarium products. They are passionate about helping customers build thriving aquatic environments, both in-store and online. As they expand their digital presence, they are looking for a results-driven E-Commerce Growth Specialist to help scale online sales, strengthen their brand, and improve customer engagement across multiple channels.
Schedule:
- Melbourne, AU (30 hours per week)

Responsibilities
1. SEO & AI Search Optimisation
- Optimise website content for Google and emerging AI search platforms
- Improve product pages with structured, high-converting content
- Create and optimise FAQ sections targeting customer queries
- Implement schema markup (product, FAQ, local business)
- Identify keyword opportunities and content gaps
2. Shopify Website Optimisation
- Improve site structure, navigation, and user experience (UX)
- Optimise mobile responsiveness and performance
- Enhance page speed and technical SEO
- Improve product pages to increase conversions
3. Social Media Management
- Manage and grow presence on Facebook and Instagram
- Plan and schedule consistent, engaging content
- Create reels, short videos, and educational posts
- Showcase fish, new arrivals, and aquarium tips
- Engage with audience via comments and messages
4. Email Marketing (Mailchimp)
- Plan and execute email campaigns using Mailchimp
- Build, segment, and manage email lists
- Create newsletters, promotions, and automated flows
- Optimise open rates, click-through rates, and conversions
5. Content Creation
- Write blog posts (aquarium care, beginner guides, fish compatibility)
- Develop SEO-friendly product descriptions
- Generate content ideas aligned with customer needs and trends
- Collaborate on content strategy across channels
6. Conversion & Sales Growth
- Identify opportunities for upsells, bundles, and promotions
- Improve the customer journey from landing page to checkout
- Increase average order value (AOV)
- Monitor and optimise conversion rates
7. Local Marketing (Melbourne Focus)
- Optimise website for local search (Coburg & surrounding areas)
- Align website with Google Business Profile
- Drive in-store traffic and local pickup orders
- Support local campaigns and promotions
Requirements
- Proven experience managing Shopify E-Commerce stores
- Strong understanding of SEO, including modern AI-driven search trends
- Experience managing Facebook and Instagram accounts
- Hands-on experience with Mailchimp (or similar platforms)
- Ability to create content (copywriting, basic visuals, short videos)
- Understanding of conversion rate optimisation (CRO)
Bonus Skills
- Experience in pet, aquarium, or retail industries
- Basic graphic design or video editing skills
- Familiarity with analytics tools (Google Analytics, Search Console, etc.)
