Job Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Finance & Accounts Assistant to support the Management Accountant and Financial Controller. This role is ideal for someone with strong bookkeeping experience who is looking to expand their exposure across various accounting functions within a multifaceted business.
You will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting compliance, and assisting with reporting and analysis.
Client Overview:
The Company is a long-established and highly diverse business operating within the precious metals industry. With a broad portfolio that includes manufacturing, refining, and trading activities, the company offers a dynamic and fast-paced environment with exposure to a wide range of financial operations.
Schedule:
- Monday - Friday, 40 hours per week
- Initial: 08:45 – 17:45 (UK Time) with 1-hour unpaid break
- Transition: 06:00 start (to align ahead of UK business hours)

Responsibilities:
- Process invoices, receipts, and payments accurately and efficiently
- Perform sales and purchase ledger reconciliations
- Support cost accounting activities related to manufacturing and refining operations
- Assist with stock control and reconciliation processes
- Handle cashiering duties and perform bank reconciliations
- Support VAT, PAYE, and Corporation Tax administration and compliance
- Prepare and verify profit & loss statements and balance sheet data
- Assist in performance reporting and financial analysis
- Maintain organized and up-to-date financial records
Requirements:
- Proven experience in bookkeeping or general accounting roles
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (formulas, data handling, reporting)
- High attention to detail and strong numerical accuracy
- Good understanding of accounting principles and financial processes
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote setup
- Strong communication skills in English
Nice to Have (Not Essential):
- Experience in manufacturing or inventory-based accounting
- Familiarity with UK tax regulations (VAT, PAYE, Corporation Tax)
- Experience working with accounting software
