Senior Healthcare Accounting & Reconciliation Specialist

Job Overview

Our client is looking for a detail-oriented Accounting & Reconciliation Specialist to join their team. This role is initially project-driven, focusing on heavy reconciliation and cleanup work during the first 60 days. Following the initial phase, you will transition into ongoing month-end close processes, financial reporting, and the maintenance of established reconciliation workflows. Reporting directly to the CFO, you will work independently to ensure the accuracy and integrity of balance sheet accounts while documenting improved processes for future scalability.

Schedule

  • Monday - Friday, Flexible during client business hours 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM [Kentucky, USA] (40 hours per week)

Responsibilities

  • Perform heavy reconciliation work on balance sheet accounts, including cash accounts, liabilities, and payroll-related accounts during the initial 60-day project phase.
  • Contribute to month-end close processes and prepare journal entries.
  • Conduct ongoing cash reconciliations and maintain established reconciliation processes.
  • Establish and document improved reconciliation processes for balance sheet accounts moving forward.
  • Prepare financial reports and assist with various reporting requirements as needed.
  • Work independently on accounting tasks and report back on progress and findings to the CFO.

Requirements

  • Experience: 3–8 years of accounting experience with a solid accounting foundation.
  • Technical Skills: Strong experience with bank and cash account reconciliations and proven experience with balance sheet reconciliation processes.
  • Accounting Tasks: Proficiency in preparing journal entries and financial reports.
  • Software: Experience with accounting software (MultiView experience is preferred but not required).
  • Industry: Healthcare or medical industry experience is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Soft Skills: Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and strong attention to detail.
