Job Overview
Our client is seeking a highly detail-oriented and proactive Finance Manager / Bookkeeper to oversee day-to-day financial operations. This role is critical in ensuring accurate financial records, maintaining compliance with Australian regulations, and providing clear, actionable financial insights to support business decisions. You will be responsible for the full-cycle financial health of the business, from daily entry in Xero to high-level cash flow forecasting and reporting.

Responsibilities
- Xero Management: Manage daily financial operations, including invoicing, bills, and transaction entries.
- Reconciliations: Perform regular bank and account reconciliations to ensure 100% accuracy.
- Payroll & Super: Process payroll and superannuation in strict accordance with Australian standards.
- AP/AR Oversight: Oversee accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely payments and proactive collections.
- Cash Flow Management: Monitor and maintain cash flow, including essential forecasting and reporting (High Priority).
- Financial Reporting: Prepare and present key reports including Profit and Loss, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow Statements.
- Metrics Analysis: Track and analyze key business metrics such as profit per job, operational costs, and outstanding receivables.
- Compliance: Assist with BAS preparation and ensure ongoing compliance with Australian financial regulations.
- Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve financial workflows and operational efficiencies.
Requirements
- Software Expertise: Proven, high-level experience using Xero (Essential).
- Australian Standards: Strong understanding of Australian accounting standards, GST, and compliance.
- Communication: Excellent English communication skills, both written and spoken.
- Attention to Detail: High level of precision and accuracy in data entry and reporting.
- Analytical Mindset: Ability to interpret complex financial data and provide strategic insights to leadership.
- Independence: Ability to work autonomously, manage time effectively, and take initiative.
Qualifications
- Experience working with remote teams or international businesses is a plus.
- Background in financial analysis or business advisory is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with industry-specific job costing systems is an advantage.

This is a permanent work-from-home role under an Independent Contractor arrangement.
