Job Description
You’ll lead a comprehensive technical transformation of an established e-commerce platform, turning years of quick fixes into a streamlined, high-performing website. This role combines the satisfaction of solving complex technical challenges with the opportunity to build long-term systems that directly impact business success. You’ll work closely with the operations team, providing both hands-on development and strategic technical guidance.

Schedule: Monday to Friday, 10am to 7pm Eastern with an hour unpaid break

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive audit of existing Shopify store to identify performance bottlenecks and optimization opportunities
• Implement backend coding solutions to replace unnecessary third-party apps and streamline functionality
• Optimize site speed and performance to improve conversion rates and user experience
• Review and restructure current app integrations, determining optimal technical architecture
• Collaborate directly with operations team using Airtable for seamless project coordination
• Provide ongoing technical maintenance, updates, and strategic recommendations
• Troubleshoot complex website issues that impact revenue and customer experience
• Build scalable solutions that support long-term business growth

Requirements

• Strong experience with Shopify development and backend coding
• Proven ability to analyze and optimize e-commerce website performance, particularly site speed
• Experience with Shopify’s technical architecture and app ecosystem
• Track record of improving conversion rates through technical optimizations
• Excellent problem-solving skills for complex, legacy technical challenges
• Strong communication skills to work directly with non-technical team members
• Bonus if you have experience with task management tools like Airtable
• It helps if you’ve worked with established businesses undergoing digital transformation
