Our client is looking for a detail-oriented and reliable Accountant to support the financial operations of the company. Responsibilities
Financial Management & Bookkeeping
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records
- Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions
- Perform bank and credit card reconciliations
- Manage invoicing, billing, and payment tracking
- Monitor cash flow and provide financial updates
Accounting & Reporting
- Prepare regular financial reports (weekly/monthly)
- Assist in preparing profit & loss statements and balance sheets
- Support budgeting and cost tracking for projects or productions
- Ensure accuracy and consistency across all financial data
Compliance & Documentation
- Maintain organized financial documentation and records
- Ensure compliance with relevant Australian financial regulations
- Assist with audit preparation and documentation collation
- Support tax-related documentation and coordination with external accountants
Systems & Process Management
- Work within accounting systems such as Xero, QuickBooks, NetSuite, or similar platforms
- Maintain and improve financial workflows and processes
- Ensure accurate data entry and system integrity
- Identify and resolve discrepancies proactively
Requirements
- 2–5 years experience in bookkeeping or accounting roles
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial processes
- High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Experience with accounting software (e.g., Xero, QuickBooks, NetSuite)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and/or Google Sheets
- Ability to work independently and manage deadlines
- Strong written and verbal English communication skills
Highly Preferred
- Experience working with Australian clients or businesses
- Background in creative, media, or production industries
- Experience with project-based or cost tracking accounting
- Familiarity with payroll and contractor payments
