Job Overview

Our client is looking for a data-driven CRO Specialist to lead website performance improvements across Shopify-based eCommerce sites. This role is unique in its focus on organic (SEO-driven) traffic, requiring a professional who can increase conversion rates without compromising search engine rankings. You will be responsible for the entire optimization lifecycle—from analyzing user behavior in GA4 to implementing theme adjustments directly in Shopify—operating independently without the need for a separate developer.

A growth-focused eCommerce entity that prioritizes organic search as its primary traffic driver. They manage complex product structures and large catalogs, seeking to bridge the gap between high-volume SEO traffic and seamless user experience to maximize ROI.

Schedule

  • Flexible during business hours, with required availability for occasional calls during Eastern Time (ET) business hours (35 hours per week)

Responsibilities

  • Performance Analysis: Use GA4 and CRO tools to identify conversion bottlenecks and user drop-off points specifically within organic traffic funnels.
  • Independent Implementation: Execute CRO changes directly within the Shopify backend, including theme adjustments, layout improvements, and UX enhancements.
  • Testing & Evaluation: Plan and run A/B and multivariate tests focused on landing pages, collection pages, and checkout flows.
  • Catalog Optimization: Reorganize site structure, navigation, and product categorization to simplify complex journeys for sites with high product volumes.
  • SEO Preservation: Ensure all optimizations enhance the user experience while strictly adhering to SEO best practices to protect organic rankings.
  • Strategy & Reporting: Translate complex data findings into actionable UX recommendations and maintain detailed documentation of hypotheses and test results.

Requirements

  • 3–5 years of experience in CRO, eCommerce optimization, or UX-focused digital marketing.
  • Deep Shopify Expertise: Proven success in adjusting themes, templates, and navigation independently (no developer handoff required).
  • Analytical Mastery: Advanced proficiency in GA4 for funnel analysis and behavior tracking.
  • Testing Tool Proficiency: Experience with tools such as VWO, Optimizely, Convert, or AB Tasty.
  • Technical Literacy: Working knowledge of HTML, CSS, and basic JavaScript for implementation and QA.
  • SEO-Centric Mindset: Strong understanding of how site structure and internal linking impact organic search performance.

Qualifications

  • Experience simplifying or reorganizing large-scale eCommerce catalogs (Highly Regarded).
  • Background in UX research or behavioral psychology (Preferred).
  • Familiarity with SEO tools like Google Search Console, Ahrefs, or SEMrush (Preferred).
  • Excellent communication skills to explain technical findings to non-technical stakeholders.
