Job Overview

Our client is a dynamic construction and renovation company based on Australia’s Sunshine Coast, managing a diverse portfolio ranging from small maintenance tasks to major $200,000 commercial projects. With a growing team of 15+ professionals specializing in office fit-outs and commercial builds, they are seeking a Project Bookkeeper to serve as their financial backbone. You will manage the seamless integration between project management and financial systems, ensuring that field teams have the accurate data they need to deliver exceptional results.

Schedule

  • Monday – Friday, 20 hours per week (Flexible during Brisbane business hours).

Responsibilities

  • Financial Operations: Manage comprehensive bookkeeping using Xero accounting software, ensuring all records are accurate and up to date.
  • Systems Integration: Operate the Arrowflow job management system to track project-based financials and ensure seamless synchronization with Xero.
  • Invoicing & Data Entry: Process project invoicing through integrated systems; handle data entry and reconciliation for projects ranging from simple repairs to complex commercial builds.
  • Field Team Support: Manage the financial aspects of work entries and client invoicing to support the 15+ person field team.
  • Workflow Coordination: Coordinate financial workflows between job management and accounting platforms to maintain operational efficiency.
  • Reporting: Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting tailored to diverse project types and specific client requirements.

Requirements

  • Experience: Minimum 5 years of bookkeeping experience, preferably supporting Australian-based clients.
  • Software Mastery: High proficiency with Xero accounting software is essential.
  • Technical Aptitude: Experience with Arrowflow (or similar integrated project management platforms like Procore, SimPRO, or Jobber).
  • Industry Background: Previous experience in construction, renovation, or project-based industries is highly preferred.
  • Detail-Oriented: Strong attention to detail necessary for managing the financial complexities of high-value commercial contracts.

Qualifications

  • Understanding of Australian BAS (Business Activity Statement) and tax requirements is a significant bonus.
  • Proven experience working with "sync-heavy" integrated systems where job management data feeds directly into accounting.
  • Reliable high-speed internet connection for remote system management.

This is a permanent work-from-home role under an Independent Contractor arrangement. Candidates must have their own computer and are responsible for their own taxes and benefits.
