Job Overview

Our client is looking for a detail-driven Construction Estimator | Takeoffs & Quotations to support accurate and timely project estimating for a construction and trades business. This role is primarily focused on preparing precise cost estimates, performing takeoffs using PlanSwift, and ensuring consistency across all project quotations. The ideal candidate is highly analytical, strong with numbers, and experienced in construction estimating workflows.

Schedule

• Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM (40 work hours per week)

Responsibilities

Estimating & Costing (Core Focus)

• Prepare accurate project estimates and client quotations based on scope, drawings, and specifications
• Perform quantity takeoffs using PlanSwift from plans and drawings
• Build detailed cost breakdowns, including labor, materials, subcontractors, and margins
• Review and validate supplier pricing to ensure competitiveness and accuracy
• Analyze project scope and identify risks, gaps, or cost inconsistencies
• Update estimates based on scope changes, variations, and revised requirements
• Maintain consistency and standardization across all estimates and pricing structures

Requirements

• Proven experience in construction estimating or quantity takeoffs
• Hands-on experience using PlanSwift for takeoffs and measurements
• Strong numerical and analytical skills with close attention to detail
• Ability to interpret drawings, plans, and project specifications
• Experience in pricing materials, labor, and subcontractor costs
• Excellent written communication skills for preparing clear and professional quotations
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines

Qualifications

• Experience in residential and commercial construction projects (Nice to Have)
• Familiarity with Australian construction standards and pricing (Nice to Have)

• This is a permanent work-from-home role under an Independent Contractor arrangement. Candidates must have their own computer and reliable internet connection, and are responsible for their own taxes and benefits.
