Quantity Surveyor

Job Overview

Our client is looking for a detail-oriented Quantity Surveyor to join their expanding team. This role focuses on the core measurement and analysis of building works for both commercial and residential projects. You will work closely with a senior quantity surveyor to ensure high accuracy in project documentation and support the growth of a dedicated surveying unit.

Schedule

  • Monday - Friday, 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM AEST (40 work hours per week)

Responsibilities

  • Set up and measure bill of quantities for commercial and residential building projects
  • Work on quantities of all building works and elements for assigned projects
  • Collaborate directly with a senior quantity surveyor on project analysis and measurements
  • Handle amendments and changes with the site staff when different drawings are provided
  • Process and analyze construction drawings and specifications
  • Perform predominantly measuring tasks with high accuracy and attention to detail

Requirements

  • Experience in quantity surveying, particularly in commercial building projects
  • Proficiency with BuildSoft and Cubit software (preferred) or similar quantity surveying software
  • Strong mathematical and analytical skills for accurate measurements
  • Ability to work with construction drawings and specifications
  • Experience with bill of quantities preparation and measurement
  • Good communication skills for collaborating with site staff and senior team members

Scope

  • Full-time position starting April-May 2026
  • Work directly with a senior quantity surveyor
  • Projects span commercial building (primary focus) and some residential work
  • Potential to support projects across various locations and jurisdictions
  • Growth opportunity to become part of an expanding 2-3 person quantity surveying team
  • Focus initially on core quantity surveying tasks with potential for expanded responsibilities as the relationship develops

This is a permanent work-from-home role under an Independent Contractor arrangement. Candidates must have their own computer and reliable internet connection, and are responsible for their own taxes and benefits.
