Payroll Assistant

Job Overview
Our client is seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Assistant to support payroll processing and reporting activities. The role focuses on maintaining payroll records, verifying payroll data, and assisting with payroll reporting to ensure employees are paid accurately and on time. The position will also support equity-related payroll reporting in Workday, ensuring proper documentation and alignment with payroll records.

Schedule

  • 40 hours per week
  • Working Hours: Eastern Standard Time (EST)
  • Must have overlap with the client’s time zone as needed

Responsibilities

  • Assist in preparing and processing payroll on a regular schedule (weekly, biweekly, or monthly)
  • Collect, review, and maintain payroll data including hours worked, bonuses, deductions, and adjustments
  • Support reporting and recording of equity-related payroll transactions in Workday
  • Review payroll reports for accuracy prior to final submission
  • Maintain and update employee payroll records and documentation
  • Assist in reconciling payroll discrepancies and resolving payroll-related inquiries
  • Support tracking of employee attendance, leave balances, and overtime
  • Generate payroll summaries and reports for internal stakeholders
  • Ensure payroll data and documentation are organized and securely stored
  • Collaborate with HR, finance, and payroll teams to ensure payroll data accuracy

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience in payroll administration, accounting support, or HR/payroll coordination
  • Experience working with Workday or similar HRIS/payroll systems
  • Familiarity with payroll processing and reporting
  • Strong Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and data accuracy
  • Ability to handle sensitive financial and employee data with confidentiality
  • Strong written and verbal English communication skills
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills

Qualifications (Nice to Have)

  • Direct experience supporting equity compensation or equity-related payroll reporting
  • Experience supporting payroll for international or distributed teams
  • Background in accounting, finance, HR, or business administration
  • Familiarity with time-tracking systems and HRIS integrations
