Lead AI Solutions Engineer & AI Automation Architect

Job Overview
Our client, a growing Managed IT Services provider, is building a dedicated AI and automation practice to improve internal operations and deliver AI-driven solutions for clients. They are seeking a Lead AI Solutions Engineer / AI Automation Architect to design, prototype, and implement AI and automation systems. This role combines solution architecture, hands-on development, and experimentation with modern AI tools. Initially focused on internal initiatives, the position will expand to lead AI projects for external clients.

Client Overview
The client specializes in managed IT services and is expanding into AI and automation solutions. They aim to streamline internal workflows, develop AI-driven tools, and eventually offer these solutions to external clients, leveraging modern AI platforms, Microsoft technologies, and automation pipelines.

Schedule

  • Full-time role, 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday 8am to 5pm with one hour of unpaid break

Responsibilities

AI & Automation Solution Development

  • Design and build AI-driven automation solutions to improve internal efficiency
  • Rapidly develop prototypes, applications, and automation systems using LLMs and AI-assisted coding tools(e.g., Claude, Claude Code)
  • Implement AI-powered workflows using LLMs, RAG systems, and API integrations
  • Identify opportunities to automate repetitive tasks and improve business processes

Architecture & System Integration

  • Architect and build solutions using the Microsoft ecosystem, including:
    • Microsoft Fabric (lakehouses, pipelines, models)
    • Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Dataverse)
    • Microsoft 365 and Microsoft Graph integrations
  • Connect systems and platforms via APIs, webhooks, and automation pipelines
  • Ensure solutions are secure, maintainable, and well-architected
  • Document systems, data flows, and automation workflows

Web & Interface Development

  • Develop modern web-based interfaces and dashboards generated with AI tools
  • Refine interfaces using modern frameworks where appropriate

Collaboration & Leadership

  • Collaborate with leadership to prioritize high-impact automation opportunities
  • Help build and eventually lead the company’s AI services and automation capabilities for clients

Required Skills & Experience

  • Hands-on experience building software, automation systems, or technical solutions
  • Experience integrating LLMs and AI tools into workflows
  • Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools (e.g., Claude / Claude Code)
  • Experience with APIs, structured data (JSON), and system integrations
  • Ability to design and implement automation pipelines
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to translate business problems into technical solutions
  • Experience building or working with modern web applications or front-end interfaces
  • Ability to research, experiment, and implement new technologies independently
  • Strong communication skills to explain technical solutions clearly

Preferred Technical Experience

  • Microsoft Fabric (lakehouses, pipelines, models)
  • Microsoft Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Dataverse)
  • Microsoft 365 ecosystem (SharePoint, Teams, Entra ID)
  • LLM development and orchestration, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) systems
  • OpenAI, Azure OpenAI, or similar LLM APIs
  • Microsoft AI / Azure AI services
  • JavaScript, Python, or similar scripting languages
  • API integrations and automation platforms
