Head of AI and Automation

Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced, proactive, and commercially driven Head of AI and Automation to lead the next phase of our business growth through intelligent systems and automation.

This role is both strategic and hands-on, responsible for scaling existing AI initiatives and embedding automation across key business functions. You will work closely with founders and department leaders to identify opportunities, design solutions, and implement AI-driven workflows that deliver measurable impact.

You will play a critical role in transforming how the business operates by improving efficiency, reducing manual processes, and enhancing output quality through practical AI applications.

Schedule: Monday to Friday flexible time within 7:00 AM to 9:00 PM Sydney Time with one hour of unpaid lunch break, can be changed

Key Responsibilities

  • Evaluate existing business processes and identify high-impact automation opportunities
  • Enhance and scale current AI systems and workflows
  • Lead AI integration across multiple departments (e.g., Design, Content, Finance, Operations)
  • Design, build, and optimize AI-driven workflows using leading platforms
  • Translate business needs into scalable and efficient automation solutions
  • Collaborate with founders and team leaders to align AI initiatives with business goals
  • Improve operational efficiency, accuracy, and productivity across the organization
  • Develop and execute the company’s AI and automation roadmap
  • Test, monitor, and refine AI systems to ensure performance and reliability
  • Stay updated with the latest AI trends and recommend innovative applications
  • Drive adoption of AI tools and foster a culture of continuous improvement

Qualifications
Technical & Professional Requirements

  • Proven experience in AI automation, workflow design, and implementation
  • Hands-on experience with leading AI platforms such as
    • Claude
    • ChatGPT
    • Gemini
  • Strong understanding of applying AI in real-world business environments
  • Experience integrating AI into business operations (e.g., content, finance, design, ops)
  • Ability to analyze workflows and identify automation opportunities
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Comfortable working with data, systems, and performance metrics

  • This is a permanent work-from-home role under an Independent Contractor arrangement. Candidates must have their own computer and reliable internet connection, and are responsible for their own taxes and benefits.
