Job Overview
Our client is looking for a professional to handle inbound calls from patients (ages 65+) requesting medical equipment and supplies. In this role, you will be the first point of contact, responsible for gathering critical patient information, verifying Medicare eligibility, and ensuring all data is meticulously entered into the billing system. This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing team at the ground floor, with the department expected to scale from 2 agents to over 20 within the next six months.
Client Overview

They are launching significant marketing campaigns and require a dedicated intake team to manage high call volumes while maintaining strict adherence to federal compliance regulations.

Monday - Friday, 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM EST, with 1 hour unpaid break (40 work hours per week)

Responsibilities
- Inbound Patient Intake: Handle high-volume calls from Medicare patients; gather names, contact details, and Medicare numbers professionally.
- Eligibility Verification: Verify patient Medicare Part B coverage and perform NPI (National Provider ID) lookups to identify and verify primary care physicians.
- Data Entry & CRM: Accurately enter demographic information, addresses, and medical needs into the Brightree billing software/CRM system.
- Compliance & Protocols: Maintain strict adherence to Medicare regulations and follow established company scripts precisely.
- Patient Rapport: Build trust and empathy with elderly patients while identifying additional medical conditions for future follow-up opportunities.
- Growth Support: Maintain high performance in call handling and data accuracy to support the rapid scaling of the intake department.
Requirements
- Excellent English communication skills with a clear, professional accent suitable for the 65+ demographic.
- Proven experience in customer service, ideally within the healthcare or medical field.
- Strong attention to detail for accurate patient verification and data entry.
- Proficiency in navigating CRM/billing software (experience with Brightree is a major bonus).
- Professional demeanor with the patience and empathy required to work with elderly patients.
- Understanding of medical compliance requirements and the ability to follow scripts without deviation.
Qualifications
- Familiarity with Medicare Part B eligibility and medical supply workflows (Highly Regarded).
- Experience performing NPI lookups or using physician databases (Preferred).
- Ability to work effectively in a high-volume inbound call environment.

This is a permanent work-from-home role under an Independent Contractor arrangement. Candidates must have their own computer and reliable internet connection, and are responsible for their own taxes and benefits.
