About the Role:

We are seeking a Senior Shopify Developer to lead optimization, architecture, and scalable development across multiple Shopify brands. This role focuses on improving performance, standardizing theme systems, building reusable templates, and strengthening technical infrastructure to support efficient brand launches and long-term growth.

You will own the technical quality of our Shopify ecosystem — ensuring stores are fast, structured correctly, scalable, and built with clean architecture.

• Mondays to Fridays, 7:00 am to 4:00 pm (US Central Time)

Key Responsibilities:

• Store Optimization & Performance
• Audit and improve site speed (Core Web Vitals)
• Refactor and clean up theme code
• Reduce app bloat and improve load efficiency
• Optimize Liquid, JavaScript, and asset delivery
• Improve mobile UX and conversion flow
• Troubleshoot and resolve performance bottlenecks
• Advanced Shopify Theme Development
• Develop and maintain modular Shopify OS 2.0 themes
• Build reusable sections, snippets, and structured templates
• Architect scalable JSON template systems
• Implement clean, maintainable section schema structures
• Standardize theme architecture for multi-brand reuse
• Ensure themes are flexible for internal teams to manage
• Liquid, JSON & Architecture Ownership
• Write advanced Liquid logic with performance awareness
• Structure metafields and tagging systems properly
• Design a scalable product and collection logic
• Maintain clean naming conventions and data structure
• Work with Shopify APIs (REST & GraphQL)
• Handle AJAX cart and dynamic front-end interactions
• Structured Data & Technical SEO
• Implement and maintain JSON-LD structured data (Schema.org)
• Optimize product, collection, article, and organization schema
• Prevent duplicate or broken schema output
• Ensure structured data aligns with SEO best practices
• Support long-term search visibility improvements
• Integrations & Automations
• Implement and optimize Shopify Flow automations
• Manage third-party app integrations
• Support webhook-based workflows
• Improve operational and fulfillment integrations
• Build scalable automation foundations for multi-store growth
• Growth Infrastructure & Scaling
• Build reusable launch frameworks for new brands
• Reduce technical debt across stores
• Improve analytics foundation and tracking stability
• Prepare stores for traffic scaling
• Ensure architecture supports long-term expansion

Required Qualifications:

• 4+ years of hands-on Shopify development experience
• Advanced proficiency in Liquid
• Deep understanding of Shopify OS 2.0 and JSON templates
• Strong JavaScript, HTML, and CSS skills
• Proven experience improving Shopify store performance
• Experience implementing structured data (JSON-LD / Schema.org)
• Experience working across multiple Shopify stores or brands
• Strong systems-thinking and architectural mindset

Preferred Qualifications:

• Shopify Plus experience
• Checkout extensibility experience
• Server-side tracking familiarity
• Experience scaling ecommerce brands
• Automation tool experience (Shopify Flow, Zapier, Make)
• Familiarity with subscription or B2B setups
