Our client is looking for a bookkeeper to join a thriving CPA practice. In this role, your expertise will make an immediate impact by handling high-level bookkeeping while simultaneously transforming and automating workflows. Working directly with the firm owner, you will have the autonomy to assess processes, eliminate bottlenecks, and implement automation that benefits the entire operation. - Monday - Friday, 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM EST (35 work hours per week)

Responsibilities
- Multi-Client Bookkeeping: Perform comprehensive bookkeeping for various CPA firm clients using both QuickBooks Online and QuickBooks Desktop.
- Financial Reconciliation: Execute complex bank statement reconciliations and organize financial data across multiple input sources.
- Process Optimization: Analyze current bookkeeping workflows and implement automation tools to increase efficiency and reduce manual data entry.
- Data Management: Develop systems to handle incomplete client information and manage data from partial sources effectively.
- Operational Strategy: Work independently to assess firm workflows and recommend operational enhancements directly to the firm owner.
- Tax Season Support: Provide critical support during peak tax seasons while maintaining strict accuracy and meeting deadlines.
- Client Relations: Potentially manage direct client communication via company email once established in the role.
Requirements
- Extensive hands-on experience with both QuickBooks Online and QuickBooks Desktop.
- Strong bookkeeping background working with US-based clients, preferably within a CPA firm environment.
- Proven ability to assess existing processes and implement process automation or workflow optimization.
- Excellent English communication skills with a solid grasp of US business terminology and accounting practices.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, or a related field (Preferred).
- Tech-savvy mindset with the ability to work independently and troubleshoot complex data gaps.
Qualifications
- Experience managing multiple clients simultaneously (Highly Regarded).
- Proven track record of working effectively in fast-paced environments during US tax seasons (Preferred).
- Familiarity with third-party automation apps that integrate with QuickBooks (Preferred).

This is a permanent work-from-home role under an Independent Contractor arrangement. Candidates must have their own computer and reliable internet connection, and are responsible for their own taxes and benefits.
