Position Overview
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Accountant to support day-to-day financial operations while also contributing to operational financial analysis and reporting. This role goes beyond traditional bookkeeping and requires someone who can manage financial records, support monthly reporting processes, and analyze performance data across multiple business units.
The ideal candidate has strong experience with Xero, a solid understanding of accounting principles, and the ability to work with operational and financial data to help drive insights and improve financial visibility across the organization.
This role will play a key part in improving the reliability and speed of financial reporting, strengthening balance sheet discipline, and building scalable financial benchmarks across a growing franchise network.
Schedule: Monday-Friday from 8:00 am to 12:00 pm UK BTS hours (4 hours/day, 20 hours/week)

Key Responsibilities
Bookkeeping & Transactional Accounting
- Manage day-to-day bookkeeping activities in Xero.
- Handle Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable, including invoice processing and payment tracking.
- Perform bank and credit card reconciliations regularly to ensure accuracy.
- Record and maintain accruals and prepayments.
- Manage and reconcile intercompany transactions.
- Maintain clean, accurate, and fully reconciled general ledgers.
- Support VAT and payroll preparation, with final review conducted externally.
Financial Reporting
- Assist with the monthly financial close process.
- Perform balance sheet reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Prepare monthly management accounts.
- Generate budget vs. actual performance reports.
- Maintain and update cash flow reports, including a rolling 13-week forecast.
- Support the preparation of board packs and financial reporting materials.
Operational Finance & Financial Analytics (Key Focus Area)
- Collect and organize financial data from franchise locations.
- Maintain reporting that tracks costs as a percentage of revenue.
- Produce unit economics analysis for camps and franchise operations.
- Track marketing spend vs. revenue ratios and provide insights.
- Assist in developing financial benchmarks across the franchise network.
- Maintain weekly KPI dashboards and financial snapshot reports.
- Support integration of operational data from the Parent Area platform into financial reporting systems.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 4+ years of accounting or management accounting experience.
- Strong hands-on experience with Xero (required).
- Solid understanding of accounting principles, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
- Experience supporting monthly close and management reporting.
- Strong proficiency in Excel or financial reporting tools.
- Experience working with multi-location or franchise operations is a plus.
- Experience supporting management-level or board-level reporting preferred.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Side Note: Since this is a permanent work-from-home position and the arrangement is that of an “Independent Contractor,” the selected candidates must have their own computer and internet connection. They will handle their own benefits and taxes. The professional fees are on hourly rates and the rate depends on your performance in the application process.
