Your Role: Bookkeeper
Job Overview:
We’re seeking a detail-oriented Bookkeeper to manage financial records for a racetrack business generating approximately $25K–$30K in monthly revenue. In this role, you will reconcile bank accounts, categorize transactions, maintain the general ledger, and prepare monthly profit and loss reports. You’ll also process weekly payroll, track recurring expenses, and ensure all records are organized and tax-ready for year-end review.
This is a part-time (10 hours/week) position requiring QuickBooks expertise and familiarity with U.S. accounting practices, with potential to expand hours as the business grows.

Responsibilities:
- Reconcile bank accounts dating back to the beginning of the year, including dormant periods with no transactions
- Record and categorize all financial transactions including track fees, track rentals, and minimal business expenses
- Maintain accurate general ledger and account records for monthly close-out
- Prepare monthly profit and loss statements for business review and decision-making
- Organize and maintain financial records to ensure tax-readiness for year-end accountant review
- Process and track weekly payroll and monthly recurring expenses
Requirements:
- QuickBooks certification and hands-on experience with QuickBooks setup and management
- Familiarity with US accounting principles and experience working with US-based clients
- Proven ability to handle accounts payable, accounts receivable, invoicing, and payroll processing
- Strong organizational skills to manage catch-up bookkeeping and maintain current records
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision in a low-volume transaction environment
Scope:
- Work 10 hours per week on Pacific Time zone schedule
- Manage bookkeeping for a racetrack business with approximately $25,000-$30,000 in monthly revenue
- Handle minimal monthly transactions including weekly payroll, monthly rent, garbage, internet, and minor expenses
- Perform historical reconciliation of bank statements from the beginning of the year
- Potential to expand hours and support additional company as business relationship develops
Side Note: Since this is a permanent work-from-home position and the arrangement is that of an “Independent Contractor,” the selected candidates must have their own computer and internet connection. They will handle their own benefits and taxes. The professional fees are on hourly rates and the rate depends on your performance in the application process.
