The Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Structural Engineer to join our client's dynamic team. In this role, you will work directly under the guidance of the Lead Structural Engineer, providing critical support on a diverse range of brownfields and sustaining capital projects. You will be responsible for delivering robust, compliant, and efficient structural designs that meet rigorous Australian Standards and client specifications.

They are currently expanding their team to support a robust pipeline of debottlenecking projects and expansion studies moving into detailed design in 2026.

Schedule:

• Mondays to Fridays, flexible schedule during the client’s business hours (Australian Western Time)

Key Responsibilities:

• Structural Analysis & Design: Perform detailed structural design calculations for steelwork structures and concrete foundations using SpaceGass software and advanced spreadsheets.
• Technical Modeling: Build and analyze complex structural assessment models. Develop and apply various load case scenarios, ensuring compliance with Australian Standards, client-specific standards, and unique project requirements.
• Engineering Solutions: Collaborate with an experienced design team to develop practical and innovative engineering solutions for brownfield modifications, debottlenecking projects, and expansion studies.
• Reporting & Documentation: Prepare comprehensive calculation reports and engineering documentation for client submission, clearly outlining analysis outcomes, results, and design recommendations.
• Project Support: Assist in the delivery of ongoing projects, ensuring technical accuracy, adherence to timelines, and alignment with project goals.
  

Required Qualifications & Experience

• Experience: Minimum of 5 years of post-graduate structural engineering experience (this is hands-on engineering, not just modelling/drafting).
• Technical Proficiency: Extensive hands-on experience with SpaceGass is mandatory. You must be able to build models, run analyses, and interpret results independently.
• Industry Knowledge: Demonstrated experience in mining, mineral processing, or heavy industrial projects is highly preferred.
• Standards Expertise: Strong working knowledge and application of current Australian Standards for structural design and concrete foundations.
• Core Skills: Proven ability to perform steelwork and concrete foundation calculations, analyze structural outcomes, and advise on necessary design adjustments.
