Underwriter - Financial Debt Relief

Role Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Underwriter to join our team within the Financial Debt Relief Industry. This role will involve processing, verifying, and underwriting debt relief applications, ensuring all files comply with company policies and industry regulations. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and a solid understanding of debt relief options.

Schedule:

  • 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM PST Time USA

Key Responsibilities:

  • Email & Client Communication: Monitor and respond to emails promptly, ensuring all inquiries and requests are addressed efficiently.
  • Application Processing: Process and verify debt relief applications, ensuring accuracy and completeness of all files.
  • Cancellation Management: Review cancellations, ensuring proper documentation and follow-up are provided.
  • Debt Relief Approvals: Approve debt relief files in compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Sales Team Support: Assist the sales team with underwriting-related questions and provide guidance to ensure smooth operations.
  • Reporting & Analysis: Generate and analyze reports on key metrics to monitor performance and identify areas of improvement.
  • File Management: Properly tag processed files and ensure accurate notations are made in all relevant systems.
  • Error Identification & Follow-Up: Notate and follow up promptly on any errors identified during the review of files.
  • File Updates: Accurately update all file changes in underwriting processes, ensuring all steps are followed for reinstatements.
  • Restructure & Retain Business: Collaborate with stakeholders to restructure files when necessary to retain business and provide the best solutions for clients.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Proven experience in underwriting, preferably within the debt relief or financial services industry.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent analytical skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive client information.
  • Knowledge of debt relief options and industry regulations is a plus.
  • Strong communication skills to collaborate with stakeholders and support the sales team.

Additional Skills:

  • Proficient in data entry and system management for file tagging and notations.
  • Strong ability to problem-solve and handle complex underwriting tasks.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
