Job Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and professional Medical Assistant to support daily operations. This role serves as the main phone receptionist while managing insurance billing, aging reports, and claim follow-ups. The ideal candidate will review EOBs, resolve denied or unpaid claims, and assist with scheduling and administrative tasks. This role combines front desk duties with insurance claims support. You’ll be the first point of contact for patients and help ensure accurate and timely insurance processing.

Schedule:
- Monday to Thursday, 9:30 AM to 3:00 PM (Deerfield Beach, FL)
- 5 hours per day, 4 days a week

Responsibilities:
- Serve as the main phone receptionist, answering calls and routing messages professionally
- Use billing software to generate aging reports and identify outstanding insurance claims
- Follow up with insurance companies on unpaid or denied claims to ensure resolution
- Review and interpret Explanation of Benefits (EOB) documents and denial codes
- Contact insurance representatives to investigate and correct rejected claims
- Provide scheduling assistance and calendar management for the doctor
- Perform general administrative tasks during downtime between calls
- Learn and apply medical billing codes and payment indicators (training provided)
- Collaborate with the small team to support smooth day-to-day operations
Requirements:
- Excellent verbal and written English communication skills
- Strong phone etiquette and professional demeanor for interacting with patients and insurance reps
- Basic computer skills, including familiarity with billing software and report generatio
- Detail-oriented with the ability to identify and address discrepancies in claims and payment
- Willingness to learn medical billing and insurance processe
- Comfortable interpreting numerical codes and payment grids (training provided)
- Experience in insurance claims or medical billing preferred but not required
- Able to work independently while maintaining open communication with the team
- Reliable internet connection and quiet work environment for phone work

This is a permanent work-from-home role under an Independent Contractor arrangement. Candidates must have their own computer and reliable internet connection, and are responsible for their own taxes and benefits.
