Role: Bookkeeper

We’re looking for a detail-oriented Bookkeeper to manage daily financial transactions, invoices, reconciliations, payroll, and financial reporting. The ideal candidate has proven experience, strong Excel and accounting software skills (QuickBooks or Xero), and a solid understanding of accounting principles, with the ability to handle confidential information accurately and professionally.

Schedule: 20 hours a week - Mon-Fri 9 am to 1 pm CST

Responsibilities

• Accurately record daily financial transactions and complete the posting process.
• Generate, send, and follow up on invoices.
• Reconcile financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information.
• Maintain a systematic record of financial documents and ensure they are up-to-date.
• Process accounts receivable/payable and handle payroll efficiently.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Collaborate with the accounting team to prepare for audits and other financial reviews.
• Stay updated with financial policies, regulations, and legislation.

Requirements

• Proven bookkeeping experience with a strong attention to detail.
• Proficiency in MS Excel and accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero).
• Strong mathematical and analytical skills.
• Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
• Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and procedures.
  

Side Note: Since this is a permanent work-from-home position and the arrangement is that of an “Independent Contractor,” the selected candidates must have their own computer and internet connection. They will handle their own benefits and taxes. The professional fees are on hourly rates and the rate depends on your performance in the application process.
