UI/UX Product Designer (End-to-End)

Job Description:

You’ll design the user experience for an innovative educational gaming platform that’s transforming how young students learn STEM concepts. This role offers the opportunity to create highly interactive, immersive web applications featuring cutting-edge graphics and animations. You’ll work with a culturally diverse team that values creativity, grit, and fresh perspectives over traditional corporate experience, making this perfect for someone passionate about design and education. 

Schedule:

  • 40 hours a week Mon-Fri (Flexible) but will require weekly check-ins and planning - Oregon PST

Responsibilities:

  • Design user experience flows and wireframes for web-based K-5 STEM learning platform
  • Create high-fidelity prototypes for desktop-based educational applications with game-like elements
  • Develop visual designs that incorporate high graphics, animations, and interactive features
  • Design engaging, age-appropriate educational experiences that resonate with diverse student populations
  • Collaborate with development team to ensure designs are implemented within fast 30-day cycles
  • Provide design support during development phase for refinements and adjustments
  • Create culturally relevant designs that connect with students from diverse backgrounds
  • Complete proof of concept work to demonstrate design capabilities and cultural understanding

Requirements:

  • Strong UI/UX design portfolio demonstrating visual design skills and user experience thinking (APPLICATIONS WITH PORTFOLIOS WILL BE PRIORITIZED)
  • Experience in game design or interactive application development
  • Proficiency in creating wireframes, user flows, and high-fidelity prototypes
  • Understanding of user experience principles for educational or gaming platforms
  • Ability to design for high-graphic, animation-heavy desktop applications
  • Willingness to complete proof of concept work during the evaluation process
  • Bonus if you have experience with educational technology or children’s products
  • It helps if you bring cultural creativity and understanding of diverse communities
  • Bonus if you have experience with fast-paced startup environments
