Role Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized HR Generalist to join our team on a part-time basis. Initially, this role will focus on clearing a significant backlog of HR administrative projects, digitizing records, and establishing foundational compliance documents including SOPs and Handbooks. This is an ideal role for an HR professional who enjoys creating order out of chaos and building scalable HR processes.

Schedule & Compensation

  • Hours: 20 hours per week.
  • Schedule: Flexible 3-day work week. Initial training will occur during PST business hours (between 8:00 AM and 3:00 PM PST); thereafter, the schedule is highly flexible.

Key Responsibilities & Typical Week

  • Digital Records Management: Audit and organize approximately 1,400+ scanned documents, ensuring they are correctly filed into active and terminated employee electronic records.
  • Document Creation & Standardization: * Draft and update the Safety Handbook and Employee Handbook.
    • Develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for various HR functions.
    • Convert existing Word/PDF forms into user-friendly, electronically fillable formats.
  • Compliance & Safety: * Build a Regulatory Reporting Calendar to ensure safety compliance milestones are met.
    • Conduct job analysis to identify and document physical requirements for all company positions.
  • Talent Infrastructure: Create comprehensive, standardized Job Descriptions for every role within the organization.
  • Culture & Engagement: Develop and manage a Company Events Calendar to streamline internal engagement.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Experience: 3–5 years of experience as an HR Generalist (Preferred).
  • Technical Proficiency: Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite (specifically Word and Excel) and experience with electronic filing systems.
  • HR Knowledge: Strong understanding of basic HR terminology, acronyms, and legal requirements.
  • Communication: Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
  • Attributes: High level of discretion, extreme attention to detail, and the ability to work independently once trained.

Highly Regarded (Bonus) Skills

  • Knowledge of Washington State Employment Law.
  • Experience with safety requirements within a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in "start-up" or "cleanup" HR environments where processes need to be built from scratch.

Side Note: Since this is a permanent work-from-home position and the arrangement is that of an “Independent Contractor,” the selected candidates must have their own computer and internet connection. They will handle their own benefits and taxes. The professional fees are on hourly rates and the rate depends on your performance in the application process.
