Overview
We are seeking a high-level Dental Insurance Coordinator to serve as the financial backbone of our patient intake and revenue cycle. In this role, you are a coverage expert who ensures our clinical team in Georgetown, TX, can present accurate treatment plans and our patients can maximize their benefits.
Unlike a general call center role, this position requires a deep "Provider-Side" understanding of how insurance limitations affect clinical production. You must be able to hit the ground running with minimal training on dental terminology and software navigation.
Schedule:
- Monday – Friday | 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM CST (40 hours/week, 1-hour unpaid break)
Independent Contractor Perks:
- Permanent work from home
- Immediate hiring
- Health Insurance Coverage for eligible locations
Key Responsibilities
- Comprehensive Office-Level Verification: Execute full benefit breakdowns for new and returning patients. You must identify frequencies, limitations, and specific clauses (e.g., Missing Tooth Clauses) before the patient arrives.
- Clinical Accuracy & Downgrades: Expertly identify and communicate potential downgrades (e.g., Composite to Amalgam) to the clinical team to ensure patient co-pays are calculated with 100% accuracy.
- PMS Management: Securely navigate Open Dental (or similar Practice Management Software) via remote connection to input real-time eligibility updates and benefit tables.
- Claims Advocacy & RCM: Proactively follow up on unpaid or rejected claims. You will be responsible for gathering extra information, such as additional X-rays or clinical narratives, to resolve denials.
- Documentation: Maintain meticulous, timestamped records of all insurance interactions and verification outcomes within the patient’s digital file.
Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum 2+ years of experience inside a Private Dental Practice or DSO. (Carrier-side call center experience alone will not be considered).
- Technical Skills: Expert proficiency in Open Dental, Dentrix, or Eaglesoft.
- Clinical Knowledge: Deep understanding of CDT codes and the nuances of PPO plans (Waiting periods, missing tooth clauses, and replacement rules).
- Detail Obsession: Ability to spot "fine print" in insurance portals that could lead to claim denials.
Side Note
- This is a permanent work-from-home role under an Independent Contractor arrangement. Candidates must have their own computer and reliable internet connection, and are responsible for their own taxes and benefits. Professional hourly fees are established based on your performance in the application process.
Reminder
- Please follow the provided link to BruntWork’s Career Site to finish your initial application requirements, including the assessment questions, technical check, and voice recording. Submissions with all requirements fulfilled will receive priority review.
