Job Overview
Our client is seeking a detail-oriented Estimator / Procurement Officer to support their project and service divisions. The ideal candidate will combine strong analytical skills, commercial awareness, and supplier management expertise to deliver accurate cost estimates and efficient procurement processes. This role plays a key part in ensuring projects remain competitive and profitable while maintaining high standards of accuracy, compliance, and collaboration.
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM Perth, WA, AU (40 hours per week)

Responsibilities
Estimating & Tendering
- Prepare accurate cost estimates for electrical or construction projects based on drawings, specifications, and tender documents
- Conduct full material and labor take-offs and prepare professional tender submissions
- Collaborate with project and management teams to ensure pricing is competitive and aligned with profitability targets
- Maintain an updated database of historical project costs, supplier rates, and market trends
Procurement & Supplier Management
- Source, evaluate, and procure materials, equipment, and subcontracted services
- Compare supplier pricing and negotiate for the best value and quality
- Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors and subcontractors
- Monitor price fluctuations and provide timely updates on potential cost impacts
Project & Financial Support
- Contribute to project budgeting and forecasting
- Track estimated versus actual project costs and identify variances
- Review supplier and subcontractor invoices for accuracy prior to approval
Compliance & Documentation
- Ensure all estimating and procurement records are accurate and audit-ready
- Maintain standardized templates for take-offs, quotations, and supplier data
- Support adherence to procurement policies and industry regulations
Additional Responsibilities
- Assist in evaluating project profitability and associated risks
- Provide technical or product input for tenders and proposals
- Recommend process improvements to enhance estimating efficiency and accuracy
Requirements
- Proven experience in estimating or procurement within the electrical or construction industry
- Strong commercial acumen and analytical thinking skills
- Excellent communication and negotiation abilities
- High attention to detail and documentation accuracy
- Ability to work independently while managing multiple deadlines
- Proficiency in Excel, estimating software, and ERP or procurement systems (preferred)
- Self-motivated, proactive, and team-oriented

This is a permanent work-from-home role under an Independent Contractor arrangement. Candidates must have their own computer and reliable internet connection and are responsible for their own taxes and benefits.
