Role Overview
The Social Media Specialist is responsible for creating original, engaging, and on-brand content across multiple social media platforms while driving meaningful audience growth and engagement. This role involves content creation, proactive community management, cross-platform strategy, analytics tracking, and collaboration with internal teams to support marketing initiatives and event engagement.
The ideal candidate will go beyond simply posting content. You will understand social media trends, algorithms, and audience behavior to increase followers, boost engagement, and effectively leverage existing audiences across platforms. Experience in the luxury travel industry or creating content for premium lifestyle brands is highly desirable.
Schedule: Monday to Friday (flexible within client business hours, Queensland, Australia) — 20 hours per week

Responsibilities:
- Create original, high-quality, on-brand social media content across all channels
- Develop and edit short-form videos for Reels, TikTok, and other platforms with creativity beyond standard templates
- Proactively engage with the online community by liking, commenting, and cross-promoting content between pages
- Plan and execute a consistent social and email engagement strategy aligned with business goals
- Create and maintain a content calendar, scheduling posts strategically across accounts
- Manage Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn profiles while ensuring cross-platform cohesion
- Identify and collaborate with influencers, brand partners, or related companies to increase engagement
- Provide strategic recommendations for social media growth, including audience targeting and leveraging existing followers
- Track, analyze, and report on campaign performance with actionable insights
- Support trade show and event engagement strategies
- Brainstorm innovative ways to grow followers, boost engagement, and strengthen brand presence
Requirements:
- Portfolio demonstrating original social media content creation and measurable engagement results
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Minimum of 2 years of experience creating and managing social media accounts
- 3–5 years of experience managing and growing professional social media accounts with measurable engagement growth
- Strong understanding of social media algorithms, audience engagement strategies, and performance metrics
- Proficiency in MS Office, Windows, and Google Workspace tools
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Design, or a related creative field
- Experience in the luxury travel or luxury lifestyle industry is highly preferred
Highly Regarded Skills & Experience
- Previous experience or strong interest in the relevant industry
- Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop or similar design tools
- Experience with social media advertising
- Skilled in social media management tools such as Hootsuite, Buffer, or similar platforms
- Demonstrated ability to create platform-specific, engaging content
- Experience managing social media for consumer, tech, or luxury travel/lifestyle brands
- Strategic thinker with the ability to grow audiences creatively beyond template-based posting

This is a permanent work-from-home role under an Independent Contractor arrangement. Candidates must have their own computer and reliable internet connection and are responsible for their own taxes and benefits.
