Job Overview

You’ll play a critical role in ensuring timely and accurate processing of medical results that directly impact patient care. This position offers the opportunity to work with custom healthcare software while supporting a team dedicated to improving healthcare delivery. As the company expands and automates more processes, you’ll evolve from hands-on data entry to strategic monitoring and quality assurance.

Schedule: 2 slots, 41 hours per week; Eastern Time zone alignment;

Client Timezone: Eastern Time

Staff 1:

  • Tuesday and Friday: OFF
  • Monday and Wednesday: 8PM to 4AM, with 1 hour unpaid break
  • Thursday and Sunday: 8PM to 7AM, with 1 hour unpaid break
  • Saturday: 4AM to 12PM, with 1 hour unpaid break

Staff 2:

  • Thursday and Sunday: OFF
  • Monday and Wednesday: 4AM to 12PM, with 1 hour unpaid break
  • Tuesday and Friday: 8PM to 7AM, with 1 hour unpaid break
  • Saturday: 8PM to 4AM, with 1 hour unpaid break

Responsibilities:

  • Manually enter lab results received via fax into the laboratory information system with precision and speed
  • Monitor the lab information system continuously to ensure all results are entered within required timeframes
  • Escalate missing or delayed results to appropriate personnel and track resolution
  • Review and verify accuracy of all data entry to maintain quality standards
  • Assist with dispatching and scheduling coordination for phlebotomist field teams
  • Manage inventory tracking for blood and urine collection supplies across multiple locations
  • Maintain and organize operational spreadsheets and documentation systems
  • Transition from manual data entry focus to system monitoring as automation increases

Requirements:

  • Experience with medical administrative tasks and healthcare terminology
  • Proficiency with data entry and exceptional attention to detail for accuracy
  • HIPAA certification and solid understanding of healthcare compliance requirements
  • Familiarity with laboratory information systems or similar healthcare software
  • Ability to work independently while knowing when to escalate issues appropriately
  • Strong organizational skills for inventory management and scheduling coordination
  • Bonus if you have experience with custom software platforms or healthcare databases

  • This is a permanent work-from-home role under an Independent Contractor arrangement. Candidates must have their own computer and reliable internet connection, and are responsible for their own taxes and benefits.
