About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Packaging Production Artist to join our creative team. This role is ideal for someone with a keen eye for detail, strong technical design skills, and experience in packaging production. As a key part of our team, you will work closely with the Prepress Manager and the rest of the team to ensure that packaging designs are executed flawlessly from concept to final production.

Responsibilities
 Prepare and refine production-ready artwork for packaging, ensuring accuracy in layout, typography, color, and branding consistency, including preflight checks.
 Collaborate with the Prepress Manager and other team members to adapt creative concepts into final packaging files.
 Ensure all packaging materials meet brand guidelines and production specifications.
 Work with dielines, prepress standards, and printing requirements to ensure high-quality outputs.
 Manage multiple packaging projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail and meeting deadlines.
 Troubleshoot and resolve any production-related issues, ensuring designs translate effectively into physical packaging.
 Utilize an organized digital asset management system for packaging files and templates.

Qualifications
 Proven experience as a Production Artist or similar role in a creative or manufacturing setting. Packaging experience is a plus.
 Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, specifically Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign. Strong Illustrator skills are a plus.
 Strong knowledge of print production processes, including color management, prepress, and dielines.
 Attention to detail with a strong understanding of typography, layout, and branding principles.
 Ability to work independently in a remote environment while effectively collaborating with Prepress Management and Customer Service utilizing the Google suite of apps.
 Strong organizational and time-management skills to handle multiple projects and deadlines.
 Experience working with packaging for CPG (Consumer Packaged Goods), food, or similar industries is a plus.
 Familiarity with digital printing processes is a plus but not required.

Additional Info:
Role Focus:
This role is primarily focused on ensuring that designs meet technical pre-press specifications, with occasional contributions to the creative process.
Packaging Projects and Printing Methods:
Primarily labels, flexible packaging, cartons, direct print tubes, and jars. Printing methods will mostly be digital but will include both flexo and offset.
Color Management and Processes:
Yes, color management includes expertise in color separation processes, working with halftones, and ensuring accurate color reproduction for different print methods. It also requires expertise in managing color between different printing formats and materials. The candidate should be familiar with industry-standard tools and techniques to maintain consistency and quality across various printing processes.

Workflow and Collaboration: The typical workflow begins with receiving design files and direction from the Prepress Manager or customer service team. Reviewing them for compliance with pre-press standards, and preparing them for printing. This role collaborates closely with design teams, production managers, and print vendors to ensure smooth transitions from concept to final production. Clear communication and attention to
detail are essential at each stage.
Production Challenges and Role Impact: Common production challenges include maintaining color consistency across different print runs, ensuring design elements translate accurately to various materials, maintaining proper and accurate versioning, and meeting tight deadlines. This role plays a key part in mitigating these challenges by optimizing artwork, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring all specifications are met before production begins.
Preferred Experience: Ideally, we are seeking candidates with experience in packaging design and pre-press production. Industry-specific experience, such as working with food or consumer packaged goods (CPG), is preferred but not required. A strong understanding of print processes, file preparation, and color management is essential.
