The Role

The Automation Consultant is responsible for designing, building, and delivering automation and orchestration solutions across core business systems and customer environments. The role blends technical delivery, architectural thinking, and consulting.

You will work closely with product leaders, service teams, and customers to reduce manual processes, integrate systems, and accelerate time-to-market. This is a hands-on role with real ownership and visibility.

This role suits someone who enjoys building smart solutions that materially change how a business operates.

 

Key Responsibilities

Automation & Orchestration Delivery

  • Design and deliver automation and orchestration solutions across multiple business units

  • Own automation roadmaps aligned to services, platforms, and operational goals

  • Build system integrations across internal platforms and customer environments

Technical Development

  • Configure and develop automation solutions using platforms such as Nintex/K2, UiPath, and custom .NET code

  • Design and implement APIs and RESTful services

  • Develop automation using C#, .NET Core / .NET 6, PowerShell, or Python

Process & Cost Optimisation

  • Identify and deliver cost-reduction initiatives through automation and process streamlining

  • Improve operational workflows and reduce manual effort across managed services and XaaS offerings

  • Drive procedural improvements across core management and delivery platforms

Architecture & Consulting

  • Provide architectural input to product and steering committees

  • Support faster time-to-market by leveraging existing platforms and shared services

  • Deliver automation-focused consulting services to customers (remote and on-site as required)

Documentation & Knowledge

  • Produce clear technical documentation and implementation records

  • Contribute to internal and customer-facing technical knowledge libraries

  • Provide progress reporting and communicate risks or delivery impacts clearly

 

Requirements

Technical Experience

  • Hands-on experience with automation platforms such as Nintex Automation Cloud, K2 Five, or K2 Cloud

  • Strong development experience with C#, .NET Core, .NET 6

  • Experience designing and implementing APIs and RESTful services

  • Experience delivering cloud-based solutions on Azure, AWS, or GCP

  • Familiarity with DevOps practices and CI/CD automation

  • Strong understanding of intelligent automation and orchestration patterns

  • Experience working with relational databases and SQL
