- Perform sophisticated bank reconciliations and transaction analysis, going beyond simple data entry to understand the story behind each transaction
- Analyze complex financial transactions such as merchant services deposits, identifying revenue components, fees, and proper accounting treatment
- Proactively communicate with clients and service representatives to obtain necessary supporting documentation and clarify transaction details
- Ensure all accounting entries properly reflect balance sheet impacts and maintain financial statement accuracy
- Apply accrual accounting principles across diverse client engagements spanning multiple industries and countries
- Collaborate seamlessly within the company’s modern technology ecosystem including Slack, Dropbox, and other integrated cloud-based applications
- Work effectively with team members across different time zones and geographic locations, contributing to a truly global operation
- Strong foundation in balance sheet accounting and comprehensive understanding of accrual accounting principles
- Analytical mindset that goes beyond basic data entry - ability to ask critical questions about transaction components and identify discrepancies
- Proven experience with bank reconciliations, financial statement preparation, and month-end closing processes
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for professional client interaction and seamless internal collaboration
- Proficiency with accounting software and cloud-based collaboration tools, with adaptability to learn new systems quickly
