Work Schedule:

• Mondays to Fridays, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm

 

Responsibilities:

• To restructure our accounts payable inbound stream, to streamline invoicing and payments.
• To reconcile all accounts on a daily basis
• To restructure and redevelop our stock value accounts
• To produce monthly management accounts on the previous month's performance
• To file and submit our quarterly VAT returns via the MTD Xero interface
• To liaise with our EU VAT tax partners in paying and checking our VAT and OSS obligations in the EU

 

Requirements: 

• Minimum 5+ years of hands-on experience using Xero, with strong proficiency in managing day-to-day bookkeeping and accounting functions.

• Strong knowledge of UK tax law and compliance, including experience filing UK VAT returns under the Making Tax Digital (MTD) regime.

• Proven experience handling VAT filings in multiple EU countries and working with VAT partners (e.g., Hellotax or similar providers).

• Experience working with e-commerce businesses, including understanding multi-currency transactions, cash flow management, and platform-related workflows.

• Ability to manage and maintain supplier invoices, ensuring timely payments with appropriate Director approval.

• Experience setting up and improving accounting processes from the ground up, including workflows for receiving invoices and issuing purchase orders.

• Strong reconciliation skills, with the ability to reconcile and clean up large volumes of transactions (thousands of entries) as an immediate priority.

• Experience in preparing monthly management accounts and providing accurate financial reporting to stakeholders.

• Understanding of import VAT and experience working with importers or international trading businesses.

• High attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
