The Role
The Project Engineer is responsible for delivering consulting and project work across multiple client environments. The role is hands-on and delivery focused, with a strong emphasis on billable utilisation, quality execution, and client satisfaction.
You will work closely with Technical Leads and Project Managers to deliver signed Statements of Work on time and on budget. While the role is primarily proactive project delivery, some reactive support and problem resolution is expected during engagements.
This role suits an experienced engineer who enjoys project work, variety, and accountability.
Key Responsibilities
Project Delivery

Deliver consulting and project engagements across multiple clients and environments

Support Technical Leads and Project Managers with delivery execution and documentation

Assist with implementation, deployment, migration, and testing activities

Deliver projects in line with agreed scope, budget, and timelines
Technical Execution

Perform technical tasks across cloud, infrastructure, network, security, and EUC
-
Execute change requests, migrations, and proof-of-concepts

Build pilot environments and support go-live activities

Liaise with vendors and service providers to implement technical change
Documentation & Handover

Produce as-built documentation and handover materials for BAU teams

Maintain accurate and timely activity records in the ITSM platform
Collaboration & Mentoring

Work across multiple projects simultaneously, onsite and offsite

Provide technical mentoring and guidance to other engineers

Support occasional presales activity and low-level project coordination
Secondary Responsibilities

Assist with onboarding of managed services customers

Contribute to internal infrastructure and technology projects as required
Requirements
Experience & Skills
-
8+ years’ experience in a systems integrator or managed services environment
-
4+ years’ experience in a senior / level-3 engineering role
-
3+ years’ experience delivering ICT projects

Strong exposure to vendors such as Microsoft Azure, AWS, Cisco, VMware, Dell, HPE, Citrix, or Google Cloud

Hands-on experience across cloud, infrastructure, networking, security, and EUC

Solid understanding of ITIL principles

Strong time management, effort capture, and documentation skills

Clear, confident communication with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Certifications

Multiple vendor certifications (e.g. Microsoft, Cisco, VMware)

Ongoing commitment to certification and professional development
