Social Media Marketing Specialist

Schedule:

  • 20 hours per week with the potential to increase to full-time based on performance and workload.
Overview:
This role will focus on managing our social media channels (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and TikTok) and preparing regular email newsletters for a few brands. 
 

Key Responsibilities:

1.  Social Media Management

  • Manage and schedule posts for Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and TikTok.
  • Use Facebook Meta Business Suite to manage, schedule, and monitor content and engagement.
  • Follow the content calendar and ensure consistent posting (minimum 4–5 posts per week per brand).
  • Create engaging captions, hashtags, and calls-to-action for each post.
  • Collaborate with the marketing manager and graphic designer on visuals, videos, and promotional creatives.
  • Monitor comments, messages, and engagement and forward relevant inquiries to sales or marketing teams.
  • Research and apply trends (seasonal promotions, events, and user-generated content).
2. Newsletter & Email Marketing (Hands-on Execution Required)
  • Independently set up, manage, and run email marketing tools such as Mailchimp, HubSpot, or similar platforms.
  • Prepare weekly or biweekly newsletters for multiple brands.
  • Segment email lists for different audiences (e.g., retail customers, schools, clubs, and trade customers).
  • Ensure newsletters include strong visuals, clear calls to action, and links to current promotions or content.
  • Track open rates, click rates, and conversions.
  • Provide simple monthly reports and recommendations for improvement.
3. Content Planning & Coordination
  • Work with the marketing manager to maintain a monthly content plan covering:
  • Product highlights
  • Customer stories and testimonials
  • Promotions and new arrivals
  • Educational content (e.g., product guides, setup tips)
  • Maintain shared folders and update content archives in Teams/Drive.
  • Ensure all content follows brand guidelines and tone of voice.
4. Analytics & Reporting
  • Provide weekly updates on social media performance, engagement growth, and audience reach.
  • Suggest adjustments based on performance metrics (best-performing times, post types, and hashtags).
  • Report monthly on email newsletter performance and insights.
5. Collaboration & Improvement
  • Coordinate with outsourced SEO and AdWords specialists to align campaigns and landing pages.
  • Communicate with in-house sales and marketing teams on promotions and events.
  • Continuously improve email templates, post formats, and workflows for better performance.

Requirements:

  • Strong, hands-on experience in email marketing, with the ability to set up and manage campaigns independently.
  • Experience using email marketing platforms such as Mailchimp, Klaviyo, or HubSpot.
  • Solid experience using Facebook Meta Business Suite.
  • Proven experience in social media content creation and scheduling (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok).
  • Strong writing and communication skills in English.
  • Basic graphic design skills (Canva or similar).
  • Familiarity with analytics tools such as Google Analytics or Meta Insights.
  • Highly organized and able to manage multiple content schedules independently.
  • Reliable internet connection and strong attention to deadlines.
