Marketing Coordinator

Overview
We are seeking a part-time Branding & Marketing Specialist to support a cannabis consumer packaged goods (CPG) business. The ideal candidate has experience in brand development, packaging coordination, and marketing execution for regulated or lifestyle industries such as FMCG, beverages, cosmetics, or cannabis. This role will play a key part in conceptualizing, designing, and managing a distinct, compliant, and commercially appealing cannabis brand.

 


Job Highlights
 
Number of Paid Hours Per Week: 20–25 hours per week with potential to transition to full-time
Schedule: Flexible, between 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM CST (4–5 hours per day)
Work Arrangement: Work from home
Contract: Independent Contractor

 

Side Note: Since this is a permanent work-from-home position and the arrangement is that of an “Independent Contractor,” selected candidates must have their own computer and internet connection. They will handle their own benefits and taxes. Professional fees are based on hourly rates and depend on performance in the application process.


Responsibilities

  • Assist in brand strategy development and visual identity creation (naming, tone, logo direction, packaging mockups).

  • Collaborate with design agencies and freelancers to produce marketing materials, sell sheets, website assets, and retail collateral.

  • Manage brand assets, style guides, and content libraries across multiple cannabis SKUs.

  • Support product launches through digital campaigns, social content calendars, and trade marketing coordination.

  • Coordinate with distributors and retailers to ensure in-store branding and compliance with Health Canada and provincial regulations.

  • Research market trends and competitor positioning within the Canadian and global cannabis industries.

  • Provide creative briefs and design feedback to external partners (designers, photographers, agencies).

  • Manage basic updates to Shopify or B2B e-commerce platforms including product descriptions and images.


Requirements
Required Skills & Experience

 

  • 3+ years in branding, marketing, or graphic coordination (preferably in CPG, cannabis, or lifestyle sectors).

  • Strong understanding of packaging, label, and regulatory design workflows.

  • Proficiency in Canva and familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite.

  • Experience managing digital assets, brand documentation, and marketing timelines.

  • Excellent written English with a brand-oriented tone.

  • Ability to balance creative storytelling with compliance and operational details.

  • Organized, reliable, and proactive communicator.

Nice-to-Have

  • Familiarity with the Canadian cannabis market (Health Canada, OCS, provincial rules).

  • Experience with Shopify, HubSpot, or Odoo.

  • Exposure to cross-border CPG or DTC brands.

  • Comfortable coordinating with overseas creative and sales teams.
