 A rapidly expanding fractional CFO firm serving 20+ diverse clients across multiple industries, including high-volume logistics and trucking operations. The firm has experienced explosive growth, onboarding 20 new clients in under 60 days, and is transitioning from project-based work to recurring monthly services. You’ll work directly with an experienced fractional CFO who values skill development and professional growth.

 

Job Description: 

You’ll play a critical role in supporting a dynamic accounting practice that’s scaling fast and making a real impact for growing businesses. This position offers the perfect blend of high-volume transaction processing, complex month-end procedures, and the opportunity to eventually interface with clients as you demonstrate your capabilities. You’ll help the firm establish consistent monthly close processes while supporting diverse client portfolios ranging from cleanup projects to ongoing financial management.

 

Responsibilities:

• Process and categorize 2,000++ transactions weekly for a major $30M logistics client
• Execute comprehensive month-end close procedures including journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations
• Clear and organize bank feed transactions across 20+ diverse client accounts
• Prepare month-end close support documentation and coordinate data pulls
• Handle settlement reports and expense template processing for trucking/logistics operations
• Support multi-entity cleanup projects and past-due tax filing preparations
• Maintain accurate financial records while helping establish KPIs and time budgeting metrics
• Assist with client migration and development projects as business needs evolve

 

Requirements:

• 4+ years of proven experience as an accountant with strong month-end close capabilities
• CPA is preferred but not required
• Proficiency in QuickBooks Online (certification preferred)
• Experience processing high-volume transactions and complex categorization work
• Solid understanding of journal entries, balance sheet reconciliation, and financial reporting
• Ability to work full-time hours aligned with Pacific Standard Time
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in financial data management
• Bonus if you have multi-entity accounting experience
• It helps if you have logistics or trucking industry familiarity
• Strong communication skills for potential future client interaction opportunities
