The Digital Marketing Strategist is responsible for executing, optimizing, and continuously evolving digital marketing initiatives across multiple brands, with a strong focus on organic visibility, search performance, and demand generation.
This role is highly hands-on and strategy-driven. The ideal candidate is deeply engaged in SEO, AEO, and modern discovery behavior, including voice search, AI-driven search, and multi-channel visibility. They understand how people find, evaluate, and engage with brands across search engines, websites, email, and other owned and earned channels.
While this role collaborates closely with leadership, it is not a people-management position. The Digital Marketing Strategist is a senior individual contributor who can plan, execute, and iterate independently, while contributing to strategy, proposals, and long-term planning.
Responsibilities
Marketing Strategy & Planning

Develop and execute digital marketing strategies aligned with business goals and customer journeys

Define priorities, roadmaps, and phased execution plans across SEO, content, visibility, and web initiatives

Identify growth opportunities based on performance data, market insights, and audience behavior

Continuously adapt strategies as platforms, algorithms, and discovery patterns evolve
Organic Visibility, SEO & AEO

Execute and optimize SEO strategies across on-page, technical, and content layers

Lead AEO initiatives, including optimization for AI search, voice search, and entity-based discovery

Monitor search behavior trends and proactively adjust strategies

Optimize site architecture, internal linking, and structured content to improve visibility
Content, Demand & Audience Reach

Plan and optimize content strategies that drive discovery, engagement, and conversion

Ensure content aligns with search intent, structure, and modern consumption patterns
-
Support audience reach through organic channels, including search, email, and content distribution

Identify new ways to reach and engage audiences across owned and earned channels
Paid & Cross-Channel Support

Support paid visibility initiatives by aligning organic and paid strategies

Understand PPC fundamentals well enough to collaborate, support execution, or step in when needed

Optimize landing pages, messaging, and conversion paths for both organic and paid traffic
Website & Platform Execution

Make hands-on updates in WordPress and Shopify as needed

Collaborate closely with web developers to implement SEO, performance, and visibility improvements

Ensure CMS structures and content frameworks support discoverability and scalability
Performance Analysis & Optimization

Monitor performance across search, content, email, and visibility channels

Use analytics and search platforms to diagnose issues and identify opportunities

Translate insights into actionable improvements rather than static reporting
Proposals, Documentation & Communication

Contribute to and write strategy documents, audits, and proposals

Translate complex marketing and technical concepts into clear, structured documentation

Define scopes of work, deliverables, and success metrics

Document strategies, experiments, and learnings to support repeatability and scale
Technical & Platform Proficiency

Strong hands-on familiarity with SEO tools, workflows, and modern search platforms

High awareness of technical SEO, structured data, and site performance

Comfortable working within WordPress and familiar with Shopify structures
-
Able to navigate analytics, search, and CMS platforms independently

Technically fluent enough to collaborate deeply with developers and troubleshoot issues
Requirements

3+ years of hands-on experience in digital marketing, with a strong focus on SEO and organic growth

Deep understanding of modern search, AEO, and visibility strategies

Familiarity with WordPress and Shopify

Proven ability to execute, test, and iterate independently

Strong analytical, problem-solving, and prioritization skills

Excellent written communication and documentation abilities

High adaptability in fast-changing marketing environments
