We’re looking for a Production Artist to support our design and production teams by preparing accurate, production-ready artwork from customer-provided files. This role is focused on clean execution, consistency, and speed. You’ll be working from clear instructions and templates, and your work needs to be reliable enough to go straight into production.

This role is not responsible for marketing concepting or brand direction.

 

Responsibilities

• Vectorize customer-provided artwork (logos, custom designs, simple illustrations) into clean, production-ready files.

• Rebuild and clean up Illustrator files: correct sizing, smooth paths, proper alignment,  simplified shapes when needed, and consistent formatting.

• Develop knowledge of our personalization requirements, template sizes, and engraving best practices, and apply those standards consistently.

• Handle font-related issues by following established guidelines:

• Identify missing/unknown fonts and flag them early.

• Recreate lettering when required, or apply approved substitutions.

• Convert type to outlines when required for production.

• Prepare production-ready files for manufacturing (Adobe Illustrator source files, plus any required exports such as PDF/SVG as directed).

• Create a JPEG mockup of the design on the product using provided templates.

• Edit and optimize product photography for e-commerce use (cleanup, masking, background prep, export consistency).

• Resize, reformat, and version existing product images for social media and 3rd-party sales platforms/marketplaces.

• Adapt photography to platform requirements by adjusting aspect ratios, safe areas, cropping, and composition while keeping products accurate and consistent.

• Expand and alter existing product photos for new formats (background rebuilds, clean extensions, repositioning) to fit marketplace and social layouts.

• Batch-process and export image sets efficiently while maintaining naming conventions and folder structure.

• Follow file standards: naming conventions, folder structure, layer organization, and clean handoff notes.

• Communicate clearly in Trello/Slack/Email, asking questions early when requirements are unclear.

 

Requirements

• 3+ years of production design / production artist experience (or equivalent portfolio showing accurate, high-volume work).

• Strong Adobe Illustrator skills (vector cleanup, precision, file hygiene).

• Strong Adobe Photoshop skills (cleanup, masking, compositing within templates, export consistency).

• Extremely detail-oriented and consistent, with a strong self-QA habit.

• Comfortable working from templates, style guides, and written production specs.

• Reliable internet and consistent availability (exact timezone overlap is flexible).

 

Expectations (how success is measured)

• Accuracy first: production-ready files that meet specs and require minimal revisions.

• Clean handoff: correct naming, correct folders, organized layers, and clear notes for

  anything unusual.

• Dependable turnaround: most tasks completed within 24–48 hours once all inputs are

  provided.

• Proactive communication: flag issues early (especially fonts, low-quality source art,

  missing info).
