- Mondays to Fridays, flexible within Australian business hours (8:00 am to 5:00 pm)
- 35 hours per week, 7 hours per day

Role Overview:
We are seeking a highly competent Accounting Operations Assistant with a strong Xero background to support an Australian-based client. This role is accounting-first, with administrative and calendar support forming part of the overall responsibilities.
The ideal candidate is accurate, proactive, and capable of managing accounting tasks end-to-end with minimal supervision, while also providing reliable admin support during Australian business hours.
Core Responsibilities:
I. Accounting & Bookkeeping (Primary Focus – Xero)

Weekly bank reconciliations in Xero

Processing weekly payroll accurately

Managing quarterly superannuation contributions

Preparing and lodging Australian BAS
-
Reviewing invoices to ensure correct GST application
-
Identifying and correcting discrepancies before submission
II. Administrative Support (Secondary Focus)

Calendar management and scheduling

Coordinating with stakeholders across multiple small entities

General administrative support as required

Maintaining organized and up-to-date records
Required Skills & Experience:

Strong, hands-on experience with Xero (non-negotiable)

Solid knowledge of Australian payroll, GST, and BAS

Proven accuracy and attention to detail

Ability to work independently and take ownership of tasks

Proactive communicator who flags issues early

Experience supporting Australian clients is highly preferred
