SaaS Deployment Project Manager

Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday 08:30 – 17:00 (Sydney Time), excluding public holidays

  • Total Weekly Hours: 40 hours

The Release & Deployment Manager owns and orchestrates the end-to-end release and deployment lifecycle of a mature SaaS platform across web and mobile applications. This role is critical in ensuring seamless software rollouts for new customer onboarding, existing customer upgrades, and paid feature developments—while balancing competing priorities, support demands, and quality standards.

Operating in a fast-paced, high-accountability environment, you will manage multiple concurrent paid developments, an active defect pipeline of varying severity, and a steady cadence of new customer deployments each quarter. While deployment processes are well documented, this role requires a seasoned professional who can operate confidently under pressure, make sound trade-off decisions, and maintain delivery momentum without compromising quality or customer experience.

This position serves as the central coordination point between Sales, Support, Engineering, QA, and Leadership, ensuring alignment on scope, timelines, risks, and customer-facing commitments.

Delivery Governance & Accountability

  • Hold developers, testers, and ticket owners accountable for delivery commitments and quality standards

  • Participate in daily technical stand-ups to prioritise work, track progress, and remove impediments

  • Ensure a consistent flow of work from analysis through development, testing, release, and customer sign-off

Customer & Communication Management

  • Communicate customer-facing updates, release notes, delays, and risks clearly, professionally, and proactively

  • Ensure customer expectations are effectively managed throughout deployments and support-driven releases

Process Improvement & Documentation

  • Continuously identify opportunities to streamline, improve, and automate release and deployment workflows

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation across delivery tools, including JIRA, Confluence, CRM platforms, and Microsoft Office

  • Contribute to the evolution of release governance, tooling, and best practices

Leadership Collaboration

  • Work closely with senior leadership (CTO, Support Lead, Sales Lead) to balance support demand, paid development priorities, and new customer deployments

  • Provide data-driven insights to support prioritisation, forecasting, and capacity planning decisions

Requirements

Required Experience & Skills

  • 8–10+ years of experience in SaaS project management, software delivery, release management, deployment management, or a closely related role

  • Proven success delivering complex software releases while balancing speed, quality, and stakeholder expectations

  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple deployment streams concurrently under tight timelines

  • Strong understanding of SaaS delivery lifecycles, including analysis, development, testing, release, and post-deployment support

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, particularly in high-stakes or complex scenarios

  • Highly detail-oriented with a proactive approach to risk identification and mitigation

  • Strong negotiation and influence skills with the ability to drive outcomes without sacrificing quality

  • Fair, pragmatic, and solutions-oriented mindset with sound judgment on trade-offs

  • High proficiency in JIRA, Confluence, and Microsoft Office

  • Strong commitment to continuous improvement and process optimisation

  • Ability to coordinate effectively across technical and non-technical stakeholders

  • Self-driven, accountable, and comfortable operating with minimal supervision
