PHP Web Developer (OOP PHP, MySQL, Git)

Schedule: 9am to 6pm Ontario, CA time with 1 hour unpaid lunch
 
Responsibilities:
    • Communicate directly with the team to understand project goals, system requirements, and specific business needs.
    • Gather comprehensive requirements from project managers and translate them into actionable tasks for custom PHP development and estimation (if needed).
    • Develop and maintain high-quality PHP code, ensuring the application meets client requirements and adheres to best practices.
    • Work with both Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) PHP and regular PHP development to build robust and scalable applications.
    • Integrate and manage third-party APIs and services as required by the project(s).
    • Coordinate with internal team members, including designers and front-end developers, to ensure smooth integration of backend and frontend code.
    • Conduct thorough testing and debugging of PHP applications (including your own code) to ensure they meet required standards.
    • Maintain detailed documentation of code, APIs, and systems to ensure long-term maintainability.
    • Provide regular project status updates to stakeholders, highlighting key milestones, risks, and issues.
    • Ensure high performance and availability, managing all technical aspects of the website.
  • Establish and guide the website's architecture.
  • Stay updated with the latest industry trends and advancements.
 

Requirements:

    • Proven solid experience in PHP development, with strong proficiency in OOP PHP and regular PHP code (APPLICANTS MUST SUBMIT SAMPLE WORK)
    • Familiarity with Laravel is a plus but not required.
    • Experience with CraftCMS is a plus but not required.
    • Ability to work with MySQL or other databases for backend development.
    • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to debug complex PHP issues.
    • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
    • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
    • Expertise in both front-end (HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript frameworks) and back-end (PHP) development, with solid database management skills (SQL).
    • Ability to create responsive, mobile-first websites, based on provided designs, with a focus on cross-browser compatibility and performance optimization.
  • Strong experience with Git for version control and CI/CD pipelines for automated testing and seamless deployment.
  • Proficiency in designing scalable applications, implementing security best practices, and deploying on cloud platforms like Microsoft Azure is a plus, but not required.
