A trusted intermodal transportation company specializing in container drayage — picking up containers from the Ports of Houston and delivering them safely and efficiently throughout the Greater Houston area — is seeking a strategic, results-driven Chief Financial Officer (CFO). This role is essential for maintaining profitability, guiding financial decision-making, and supporting the long-term growth of the company.

Responsibilities

Financial Analysis and Reporting

• Analyze financial reports, including P&L statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements

• Present financial data clearly to enable informed decision-making by owners

• Monitor job profitability and assist with pricing decisions

Financial Meetings and Decision Support

• Conduct weekly meetings with owners to review financial performance and cash flow

• Provide practical guidance on profitable opportunities and operational decisions

Tax and Compliance Oversight

• Assist with annual corporate and S-corporation tax filings, ensuring compliance with U.S. regulations

• Maintain accurate and compliant financial records for audits, tax filings, and internal reporting

Strategic Financial Planning

• Support short- and long-term financial planning for sustained profitability and growth

• Identify risks and opportunities, providing actionable recommendations to owners

Communication and Leadership

• Serve as a results-oriented financial advisor to company leadership

• Communicate complex financial information in a clear, actionable manner

• Maintain professional boundaries and assert financial discipline when necessary
  
  

Required:

• Executive-level experience in finance, accounting, or corporate leadership

• Strong knowledge of U.S. accounting standards and corporate tax regulations

• Proven ability to analyze financial data and provide actionable recommendations

• Excellent communication and collaboration skills with company owners

• Practical mindset for implementing financial insights

• Strong personality capable of asserting financial boundaries professionally

Preferred:

• Experience in transportation, logistics, or trucking industry
